One-way Travel on Fifth St. in Lynchburg
Starting October 14, a portion of Fifth St. near Memorial Bridge will have one-way traffic heading west, away from Downtown Lynchburg and toward Memorial Ave.
This closure is part of the Fifth St. Utility & Streetscape Project, the fourth and final phase, which began in 2009 and is expected to last 15 months, until December 2026.
- The eastbound lane will be closed, with drivers detoured onto Langhorne Rd. and then left onto Park Ave.
- The detour will be in place for the entirety of the project, including nights and weekends.
