Embracing AI in Education
At the Instituto México Inglés (IMI College) in Guadalajara, Mexico, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a natural part of the learning process.
The school, accredited by Cognia, has been at the forefront of incorporating AI into its approach since 2015, replacing traditional textbooks and curricula with iPads and a unique coaching system.
“We call them coaches because we want them to behave like sports coaches. Sports coaches don’t do the push-ups for you, don’t play the game for you. They’re on the side supporting you, but you get to play the game.”
According to IMI Director Luis Medina, this approach transforms students into investigators and researchers, with coaches providing support rather than traditional teaching.
