JDE Peet’s has unveiled its revamped innovation laboratory in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
The lab is designed to accelerate development and global scale-up of new coffee products, manufacturing processes and packaging.
The opening reinforces Utrecht’s role as JDE Peet’s global R&D hub.
The company is also investing in a separate innovation facility in Joure focused on extraction and freeze-drying solutions.
The opening comes amid a major realignment in global coffee, with Keurig Dr Pepper acquiring JDE Peet’s for approximately $18 billion.
The acquisition is expected to result in a new combined company called Global Coffee Co.
