£8.6 million AI initiative to be based in Edinburgh
The UK Government-backed, European project aims to boost adoption among businesses and researchers.
The University of Edinburgh has won EU and UK Government funding to establish and operate the £8.6m UK AI Factory Antenna (UKAIFA), led by the European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU).
The initiative, starting next year at the Edinburgh Parallel Computing Centre (EPCC), will help organisations take their first steps in artificial intelligence, increasing literacy in the technology and its use, to increase productivity and deliver economic growth.
- Employ a team of 20 full-time staff at EPCC
- Develop a set of services for the UK’s start-ups, SMEs, larger industrial companies and the public sector
