Payne, Tander Win Bathurst 1000
Matt Payne and Garth Tander have won the Bathurst 1000 after prevailing in an enthralling wet-weather race.
James Golding crossed the finish line first, but received a five-second penalty, securing the win for Payne and Tander.
Payne took the lead with four laps remaining, benefiting from a clash between Golding and Cooper Murray, and held on to claim his first Bathurst 1000 win.
Tander won his sixth title at the Great Race, with Payne claiming the "holy grail of Australian motorsport" for the first time.
