New Grand Junction K-9's Introduced to the Public

The Grand Junction Police Department has unveiled its new K9 team, consisting of Loki and Brissa, along with their handlers Cory Swetman and Cody Lopez.

"The two dogs are drug detection dogs and they're tracking dogs. So they're going to help us with getting some dangerous drugs off the street,"

said Matt Smith, Public Safety Chief. The K9s will also assist in finding lost children and tracking suspects.

"We were both so impressed,"

said Ann Raabe, who along with Paul DiMarchi, made a community donation to support the K9 program after participating in GJPD's Community Police Academy.
