The Illinois Attorney General, Kwame Raoul, has filed a lawsuit against State Farm, alleging the company has not complied with a regulatory examination into its nationwide homeowner's insurance business.
The Illinois Department of Insurance is seeking zip-code level data, including premiums collected, policy coverage types, insurance limits, and claims against policies.
State Farm said the lawsuit is without merit and "has nothing to do with Illinois customers or the cost of their insurance.
The lawsuit was filed on behalf of Illinois Department of Insurance Director Ann Gillespie.
