The Dodgers and Seattle Mariners have achieved something remarkable in postseason play, not seen in 55 years.
According to Sarah Langs, this feat was last accomplished in 1970, when the Cincinnati Reds and Baltimore Orioles took the first two games of their respective League Championship Series.
- The 1970 Cincinnati Reds won the first two games against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Three Rivers Stadium.
- The 1970 Baltimore Orioles scored 21 runs and took the first two games against the Minnesota Twins at Metropolitan Stadium.
Both League Championship Series ended in three-game sweeps.
