Dozens of Roberts Bakery workers have been left without redundancy packages and unpaid for work already done after the company was acquired and rebranded by a billionaire food magnate.
In July, the struggling Frank Roberts & Sons, the bakery's parent company, announced that 250 workers would enter a compulsory redundancy consultation period. Of these, 86 workers were deemed surplus to requirements and their contractual notice periods were initiated.
The situation has left many workers feeling upset and concerned about their financial well-being.
No official statement has been released by the new ownership regarding the situation.
