Bob Ross Paintings to be Auctioned
American Public Television is set to receive a boost from the auction of Bob Ross paintings. Thirty originals will be sold to offset station licensing fees.
The auction, to be held by Bonhams over the next three years, will feature pieces painted by Ross on his series, The Joy of Painting.
My head started ticking away, like, ‘Well, this many paintings would equal this much, and this many paintings would equal this much,’”
says Joan Kowalski, president of Bob Ross Inc., who conceived the idea after two privately held Ross paintings were sold for around $100,000 each.
