On Tuesday, October 14, flights at Kelowna International Airport (YLW) and Victoria International Airport (YYJ) were delayed due to a cyber security incident.

The incident occurred between 5 p.m. and involved the hacking of public address systems and screens, displaying pro-Hamas messages.

According to the airport, the unauthorized messaging was removed, and flight information display screens were restored. The airport is working to restore the PA system.

The City of Kelowna stated that the incident was limited to a cloud-based third-party software provider.
