Released Leeds Rhinos Youngster Joins Super League Hopefuls
Jack Smith, a 20-year-old outside-back, has joined York ahead of 2026 on a one-year deal.
Smith began his career with Featherstone Lions and joined Leeds Rhinos in 2020 at scholarship level.
During his time with Leeds, he never made a first-team appearance but impressed in the age grades and on loan with London Broncos in 2025.
With London Broncos, Smith scored 5 tries in 14 appearances, kicked 49 goals, and earned the Championship Young Player of the Year award.
Smith was crowned the Championship Young Player of the Year earlier this month.
York head coach Mark Applegarth has confirmed the signing of Smith ahead of the 2026 season.
