Arthritis Impact on Work
According to a report by Arthritis UK, 50% of people with arthritis in the UK stated that their condition affects their ability to work.
- 39% of those impacted had to stop working entirely.
- 68% reported that joint and spine symptoms were the main factors affecting their work.
- 25% of people said arthritis makes them feel low in mood or anxious most or all of the time.
- 19% reported feeling isolated most or all of the time due to their arthritis.
“With more people living longer with health conditions, workplace health should be a top priority for employers and the government,”
said William Roberts, chief executive of Royal Society for Public Health.
The poll findings were published in the report "Left Waiting, Left Behind: The Reality of Living with Arthritis".
