Hunters wearing blaze orange gathered on public lands surrounding Ortonville in western Minnesota for the 13th annual pheasant-hunting opener event, hosted by the DNR, Explore Minnesota, and the Governor's Office.
According to Gov. Walz, this event holds special meaning, as he shared with Outdoor News:
"We were pheasant hunters, not deer hunters, pheasant and grouse,"regarding his outdoor experience.
The event is an annual festivity that brings attention to Ortonville.
