A registered charity in Mayo has secured three derelict houses.
The houses were among six vacant properties that were acquired by Mayo County Council during the construction of the Turlough to Westport dual carriageway in 2016/17.
The name of the charity was not released until the deal is completely finalised.
Councillors welcomed the news, including Fine Gael councillor Peter Flynn, who had a motion to reinvest the sale proceeds of the properties into local affordable or social homes.
