Bridge to Hope Walk in Houlton's Riverfront Park
The annual Bridge to Hope Cancer Walk will take place this Saturday in Houlton's Riverfront Park.
"In the 20 years it's been going, we have given out just under $470,000,"
said co-founder Kim Folsom. The event aims to raise money for patients and their families battling cancer.
- Last year's walk raised just under $35,000.
- This year's goal is $40,000.
The first walk was started by Cathy Kennedy in 2006, raising about $400. Since then, donations have increased each year, mostly through word of mouth.
