Rain and Storms Return for the Weekend

A cold front is expected to push through south-central Kentucky on Saturday night, bringing rain and storm chances, along with much cooler weather for next week.

Today will be another warm day with high temperatures around 80 degrees, and clouds could increase throughout the day.

Weekend Cold Front

A cold front will push through the region on Saturday night. As it approaches, temperatures will increase to around the mid 80s. Some rain showers and a few thunderstorms are possible ahead of the front, with rain and storms most likely along the cold front.

Strong to severe storms are possible Saturday evening through Sunday very early in the morning. The main threat is gusty, damaging winds, as well as heavy rainfall. The risk for a small spin-up tornado is very low.

Cooler Sunday

After the cold front passes, temperatures will cool off significantly.

The Storm Prediction Center has issued a slight risk for western counties in the WBKO viewing area.
