A Revolutionary Comedy: GSU Theatre premieres The Revolutionists

Georgia Southern Theatre presents a play that reimagines the French Revolution through the eyes of four extraordinary women, combining history, humor, and heart.

The play, written by Lauren Gunderson, tells the story of playwright Olympe De Gouge, assassin Charlotte Corday, former queen Marie Antoinette, and Haitian rebel Marianne Anegelle as they navigate one of France's most chaotic eras.

The cast has had terrific chemistry, which has led to a lot of great discoveries

According to Director Nicholas Newell, the play explores themes of art, activism, feminism, legacy, and storytelling, all set against the backdrop of the infamous guillotine.

The Georgia Southern Theatre brings this fierce and funny reimagining of the French Revolution to life with four actresses playing very real women.
