Archaeologists have uncovered four large, funnel-like hunting traps on the Karst Plateau, located on the border of Slovenia and Italy.
The traps, made up of stone walls leading to an enclosed pit, were discovered using airborne laser scanning surveys conducted by Dimitrij Mlekuž Vrhovnik and Tomaž Fabec.
The researchers note that the structures were built into the landscape to take advantage of cliffs and other natural formations.
