Mayo Clinic to Leave Most Medicare Advantage Networks

Mayo Clinic will go out-of-network next year for most Medicare Advantage plans from UnitedHealthcare and Humana, two of the nation's largest health insurers.

Published on October 17, 2025, by Christopher Snowbeck, The Minnesota Star Tribune, the changes mean tens of thousands of beneficiaries in Minnesota will need different insurance coverage to retain access to Mayo Clinic.

Neither Mayo nor the insurance companies offered explanations for the change.

Mayo officials noted that the clinic is already out-of-network nationally with most Advantage plans, a privatized form of Medicare coverage.
