Kosciusko County Historical Banquet Celebrates Women’s Athletics
The Kosciusko County Historical Society’s 60th annual banquet highlighted the significance of history through women’s athletics.
Photos of women’s teams from around the county were displayed, including the Atwood High School girls basketball team from 1928 and the Warsaw High School State Championship winners of 1978.
Rita Price, a member of the Indiana Broadcasters Hall of Fame and the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame, spoke at the banquet about her history with Indiana basketball, including her experiences in Kosciusko County.
Price recalled her early days in broadcasting when the radio station wanted to expand its sports coverage, and she was tasked with handling interviews, statistics, and game coverage.
