The Danville Police Department has arrested a suspect wanted in a brandishing and assault incident.
61-year-old James Chappell was taken into custody on Friday and charged with two counts of brandishing a firearm and one count of simple assault.
The incident occurred on Thursday at 12:58 p.m. when officers responded to a business in the 200 block of Main Street for a report of an assault that included the suspect producing a handgun.
According to the victims, a black male in an orange coverall suit, black hat, and glasses approached them, upset that he believed they laughed at him,
police said.
The Danville Police Department had sought the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspect in the assault and battery and brandishing of a firearm incident.
