Two numbers in Arkansas football history have been retired: Brandon Burlsworth's 77 and Clyde Scott's 12.
The athletics department announced in July that Darren McFadden's number would be honored, not retired, with a patch added to both the offensive and defensive jerseys.
“It's a conversation piece,”
said McFadden, the Doak Walker Award winner and Heisman Trophy runner-up in 2006 and 2007, who was honored on the field during Arkansas' game against Texas A&M.
