Ratoath, the defending champions, are on the verge of securing consecutive SHC titles as they face Kiltale this Sunday, following a 60-year wait for their first title just 12 months ago.
Under the guidance of Westmeath native Andy Dermody, Ratoath has experienced a successful first year. Dermody shared his reflections with the Meath Chronicle, stating:
The first few months were tough, we had plenty of lads in with county teams and we didn't really know what we had.
Despite initial challenges, including key players like Daithi McGowan being involved with county teams, Ratoath has shown steady improvement, starting with their first-round win against Kiltale.
