Quantum entanglement, once dismissed by Albert Einstein as
"spooky action at a distance", has long fascinated the public and puzzled scientists.
For quantum practitioners, entanglement is a connection between particles that is a key feature of quantum computers, allowing them to simulate natural quantum systems like molecules and catalysts.
In new research published in Science, the authors have demonstrated quantum entanglement between two atomic nuclei separated by about 20 nanometres.
Author's summary: Quantum entanglement achieved between two atoms.
