Atlanta Police Chief Darin Schierbaum announced the arrest of Billy Joe Cagle, 49, at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
According to Schierbaum, Cagle's family informed Cartersville police that he was heading to the airport and had threatened to shoot. His family also reported that he had been livestreaming on social media before entering the airport around 9:30 a.m.
Cagle was not armed when he entered the airport, but an AR-15 assault rifle was found in a pickup truck parked outside. Schierbaum believes Cagle initially entered the airport to scope it out.
