Salt Typhoon Targets European Telecom
The Chinese cyberespionage hackers, known as Salt Typhoon, continue their campaign against global telecoms, according to managed threat detection firm Darktrace.
A recent threat activity detected in July targeted a European telecom, consistent with Salt Typhoon indicators.
Salt Typhoon, also known as Earth Estries, GhostEmperor, and UNC2286, is operated by private hacking firms that work with Chinese government agencies, based on earlier analysis of leaked data.
The group primarily targets telecoms and digital infrastructure.
