A New Partnership to Support People with Brain Injuries
Headway Devon, a local charity based in Exeter, specializes in helping individuals rehabilitate from head injuries. The charity has partnered with Thompsons Solicitors, MAPS Benevolent Trust, and the Players of the Postcode Lottery to provide support to people with brain injuries.
After a brain injury, people are often discharged home to their family network without wider support.
You've spent months in hospital, in ICU, in rehabilitation with a team of clinicians around you and suddenly you're all alone.Many individuals may not understand the extent of their brain injury and may be navigating a legal fight for compensation.
Headway Devon currently works with around 100 people every week, but there are many more who are discharged home alone and have never heard of the charity. Thanks to the new partnership, Headway Devon can now provide support to people in the hospital.
