The series is set in a world where devils roam the Earth and menace humanity, and follows the story of 16-year-old Denji (Kikunosuke Toya) and his pet, Pochita, an adorable dog with a chainsaw on its face.

Denji's life is saved by Pochita when they are attacked by zombies, and Pochita becomes his new heart. Whenever Denji pulls a ripcord in his chest, he turns into a chainsaw devil, using his chainsaw arms and face to kill other devils.
