A house fire in Zevenhoven, Zuid-Holland, early Sunday morning resulted in one fatality, as reported by De Telegraaf.
Fire crews found the victim inside the home on Dorpsstraat shortly after the blaze broke out, according to the regional safety authority. Despite resuscitation efforts and treatment by ambulance personnel, the person did not survive.
Police are still investigating the cause of the fire. Several neighboring houses were evacuated as a precaution, and residents were given shelter in a nearby church. The fire was extinguished around 3:40 a.m.
