Rebecca Orwin's Debut Novel
Rebecca Orwin's debut middle-grade novel, The Monsters at the End of the World, was acquired by Puffin in a six-figure deal.
"It didn’t feel very real,"
Orwin says of the moment she landed the deal. Her novel will be published in January, featuring black and white illustrations by Oriol Vidal.
Orwin, a lifelong book-lover, studied for a Masters in Creative Writing before pursuing her author dreams. She notes that success requires
"hard work, talent, and a little bit of luck."
Her book is set in the small seaside community of Seawaren, an isolated village surrounded by poisoned land.
