Minister Bahlil Lahadalia plans to introduce a mandate for the use of oil with a 10% ethanol content by 2027 to reduce Indonesia's gas imports.
According to Bahlil,
"In 2027, we will mandate the mixing of our gasoline with E10 up to E20", said at the Mining and Energy Anniversary Ceremony.
This mandatory step aims to create energy sources from plants and establish energy sovereignty to reduce Indonesia's gas imports, which reached 330 million barrels in 2024.
