Indonesia, Brazil to Jointly Develop Ethanol Fuel, Says Energy Minister

Indonesia and Brazil to Develop Ethanol Fuel Together

Indonesian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia, announced a collaboration with Brazil to develop environmentally friendly ethanol-based renewable energy.

The partnership aims to implement E10 ethanol-blended fuel by 2027-2028, as stated by Minister Bahlil.

"This collaboration, among other things, encourages the development of new renewable energy, particularly the transition from the gasoline sector,"

Brazil has already implemented a nationwide E30 blend of ethanol and gasoline, with some states reaching E100, which is pure ethanol without any gasoline mixture.

A memorandum of understanding for this collaboration was signed in the presence of President Prabowo Subianto and President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.
