The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has decided to take more time to consider whether to rehear arguments regarding the deployment of Oregon National Guard troops to Portland.
A panel of three judges had previously ruled that the troops could be sent to Portland to protect a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility that has been the target of protests.
However, on Friday, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals issued a stay on this order, allowing a broader group of appeals judges to decide whether to rehear the matter.
The order is the latest in a series of legal actions related to the deployment of hundreds of National Guard troops to Portland.
