Alumni Support Suspended Professor Thomas Hayes
Ohio University alumni are urging the university to reinstate Thomas Hayes, a professor suspended after joining an aid flotilla to Gaza.
Hayes was detained by the Israeli military after the flotilla was intercepted in international waters.
The university suspended him for changing his class to a virtual format, violating the faculty handbook.
The letter to President Lori Stewart Gonzalez stated: "do the right thing, and reinstate Tom Hayes immediately as the instructor of The Art of Editing."
Over 150 former professors and graduates of the university's film and theater programs signed the letter.
