Mediation on Reopening Elementary School
School District of Lee County Supt. Denise Carlin refuses to attend a mediation meeting at Fort Myers Beach Town Hall to discuss the reopening of Fort Myers Beach Elementary School.
Instead, Carlin will attend a mediation session with the Town Council at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Bonita Springs on November 5.
The change in location was a result of private negotiations between the town's attorneys, Town Manager Will McKannay, and the school district.
The Town of Fort Myers Beach Council voted to initiate the mediation meeting to force the school district to reopen the elementary school.
