Prescribed Burn in Tuolumne County

Smoke will be visible in Tuolumne due to a prescribed fire fuels reduction later this week.

CAL Fire crews plan to burn several acres, with the possibility of a second burn day, as part of the Havalia Vegetation Management Project (VMP) in Tuolumne County.

The goal of the prescribed burn is to maintain and improve the Mt. Havalia Fuel Break along the top of the North Fork Tuolumne River Canyon.

The burn is scheduled to start on Thursday, October 30th, 2025, at 9 a.m., with the objective of burning two to five acres, and possibly continuing on Friday if conditions are suitable.
