Bruce County Museum Marks Remembrance Day
Historian and author Ted Barris will mark Remembrance Day at the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre on November 8.
To celebrate the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, Barris will explore the significant contributions of Canadian airmen during the Second World War.
- Canadian flyers defended England during 113 harrowing days in 1940.
- Twenty pilots were lost in action.
- Twelve received the Distinguished Flying Cross for their courage.
Canadians – some from well-known families, others fresh from the farm – served in forty-seven squadrons.
