Mayoral Minute with Elise Borg: Wrapping up Small Business Month in Georges River
As we approach the end of Small Business Month, I am proud to reflect on the range of activities hosted by Georges River Council throughout October, all aimed at supporting and engaging our local business community and strengthening the wider economy.
Small businesses are the heart of our town centres. From the family-run cafés that know your coffee order by heart, to the innovative startups shaping the future of technology and services, they create local jobs, bring vibrancy to our streets, and foster a sense of connection that larger corporations simply can't replicate.
We began the month on Wednesday, 8 October with an insightful AI Anti-Fraud and Scam Awareness Workshop delivered by Western Sydney Tech Innovators at WOTSO Kogarah. Business Chamber South, in partnership with Council, hosted a seminar on Wednesday, 30 October focused on practical ways to support local businesses.
