Humboldt County residents, businesses, and nonprofits are taking action to help individuals at risk of losing SNAP benefits, which provide monthly food assistance to nearly 42 million low-income people in the US.
Locally, 32,000 people in Humboldt County rely on SNAP, known as CalFresh in California, where 5.5 million people receive these benefits.
