Serbian Prosecutors Threaten KRIK with Fine

Prosecutors in Belgrade have requested that KRIK hand over a recording of a conversation between the director of Telekom Srbija and the new CEO of United Group, Stan Miller.

They discuss undermining one of the last independent outlets in the country. Prosecutors warned that KRIK will face financial penalties if it fails to comply.

Head of Telekom Srbija, Vladimir Lučić, and CEO of United Group, Stan Miller, were involved in the conversation.

“I am warning you that under the (...) Criminal Procedure Code, you may be fined up to 150,000 dinars, and if you continue to refuse to provide the requested information, you may be fined again in the same amount,”

wrote prosecutor Aleksandar Milošević in a letter to KRIK. The fine is equivalent to about $1,476.
