An Ontario man, Carlos Jimenez, has been charged with assault on a federal officer after being shot by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer on Thursday.
A criminal complaint was filed in federal court in Riverside, providing new details about the incident. According to the complaint, Jimenez had backed up his SUV at the officers before being shot.
Jimenez had first argued with officers before ultimately backing up his car.
The incident involved an "enforcement team" consisting of an ICE officer, an Enforcement and Removal Operations Deportation officer, and two U.S. officers.
