NAACP and Advancement Project Sue Virginia Over Voter Registration
National civil rights organizations, Advancement Project and the NAACP Virginia State Conference, filed a lawsuit against the Virginia Department of Elections on October 31.
The lawsuit claims that the department unlawfully disenfranchised college and university students, including those attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
College and university students were unlawfully rejected from voter registrations.
The lawsuit was filed to address the issue of voter registration rejection.
