Election Day in Southwest Michigan
Tuesday is election day in a handful of southwest Michigan communities.
Issues on the Ballot
There are several issues voters will decide on, including public school millages.
- Dowagiac and St. Joseph school districts: voters will decide on money issues to improve old infrastructure and transportation, including new buses.
- St. Joseph: requesting a bond that will not raise the current millage.
- Dowagiac: looking for approval of a sinking fund, a pay-as-you-go approach to address issues as money is available.
- Brandywine Community Schools: seeking a renewal of their sinking fund to fund construction, renovations, and repairs.
No additional taxes will be raised if the bond is approved in St. Joseph.
Voters will decide on these issues in the upcoming election.
