An altercation between an Apex High School graduate and an Uber driver turned violent, resulting in the young rider being shot multiple times.
Kyle Norman, the graduate, was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery after the incident. The driver, Kyron Simmons, is charged with assault using a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
The shooting occurred in Charlotte on Saturday around 3 a.m. According to an affidavit, Simmons called 911, stating that he and Norman had gotten into an "altercation". The documents reveal that Norman "struck [Simmons] in the face with a closed fist one time."
