With only one game played this season, ESPN analyst Jay Bilas has released his list of the top 68 college basketball teams. Purdue leads the rankings, opening as Bilas’ top pick for the season.
Purdue’s Dominant Start
Head coach Matt Painter begins his 21st year at the helm, backed by point guard Braden Smith, guard Fletcher Loyer, big man Trey Kaufman-Renn, and South Dakota State transfer Oscar Cluff. The Boilermakers look primed for another title run.
Loyer led Purdue with 30 points on 7-of-10 shooting from beyond the arc in an 82–51 win over Evansville.
