BAKER SOCCER: Boys Top La Grande, 3-1; Girls Fall to Tigers
The Baker boys soccer team struggled to find the net in the first half of their league match against La Grande on Tuesday.
However, in an 8-minute stretch in the second half, the Bulldogs scored three goals, with two by Kane Hellberg, and went on to a 3-1 win.
This victory keeps the Bulldogs in sole second place in the Greater Oregon League and solidifies their bid for a Class 4A playoff berth.
In the first half, the Bulldogs had several shots on goal, including near misses by Hellberg, Blake Stevens, Everett Freeland, and Esteban Bedolla.
The Bulldogs couldn’t quite find the net in the first half, then couldn’t miss it in the second half.
